Scots councillor vows to invest in Rangers after winning £2m on National Lottery

Sunday 29 September, 2013

Iain McMillan, Renfrewshire councillor who won £2m on the National Lottery and plans to invest in Rangers:

“I’ll buy some new Rangers shares. I’m not looking to get a place on the board or anything like that.

“But I’d like to invest in the club and get a plaque with my name on it.

“I had a couple of shares in the oldco Rangers so I’ll defintely be buying some new ones.

Some advice Iain: you might need to tone down that “oldco” talk if you want a plaque and not a headstone – there’s a lot of angry Rangers fans out there in denial about the business structure of their club.

Fact Howler (well, more of a typo): it’s spelled “definitely”.
